Today, boys and sheilas, is Australia Day. Also known as Straya Day or Invasion Day by some, it is the official National Day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales.

Duncan and I have just arrived in Perth after spending a meagre 31 hours on airplanes and in airports. "Welcome to Australia and enjoy your holiday!" Holiday? I think. Holiday? But...I'm here for work!
